Coastlands CP School

Big Blue Day and Water Pipeline Challenge

Last Friday we had a ‘Big Blue Day’ fundraising for Water Aid. Everyone dressed up in blue or with a ‘water theme’ like pirates, mermaids, sailors, neptune and fish…. and we made blue cupcakes with water themed decorations. In the afternoon the whole school formed a ‘pipeline through the playground and around our field – passing buckets of water starting at the water butts and finishing at the school pond.

This was the ‘Water Pipeline Challenge’ a fundraising event organised by Water Aid. Everyone brought in £2 as that pays for 1 metre of pipeline – in a country that has now water supplies !! Did you know 748 million people do not have safe clean water?? It was a really fun day!!

It looks like you all had a lot of fun Coastlands and it sounds like you learnt about how precious water is too. A massive well done on your fundraising day.
